Why Squirrels Paint

Description

For more information on how you can help this baby squirrel and many other rescued animals, please read here - [link]

This one month old baby squirrel was extremely happy with painting. He was chittering contentedly the whole time. I think he loved the attention. :aww:

I'm currently working with a non-profit animal rescue and rehabilitation center. Inspired by the book "Why Cats Paint," I decided to teach a few of the rescued animals how to paint. The paintings are going to an art show next Saturday (the 23rd) and all proceeds will go towards the rescue.

The paintings were done in non-toxic acrylic paint. For the smaller animals (baby squirrels and ducklings), the pieces were done on 9 by 12 canvas paper. For the larger animals (wallaby, wallaroo, black throat monitor, and dingo) canvas board was used. The baby squirrel was the only one that made two paintings, giving us seven pieces in total going to the art show.

If you are in the Orlando, FL area, you should consider coming to the art show. There will be other local (human) artists there as well (including - ~coallus). And Halloween costumes are welcome. For more information, please note me.
